with Kaye Maxwell
I like to keep it simple with easy check reference points in the
swing so that when I am not with you, you can check your own
swing.
I work a lot with balance and rhythm,
good posture, good grip – so
much of the swing is determined by the way the body is set up before
the swing starts.
Golf like many sports is based on centrifugal force. All this
means is that the power comes from the inner core of the body like
winding up like a spring. You keep the base flexed but steady and
wind the top like baseball.
From there watch out because the bottom half unwinds the top half
and releases the spring effect and there you have it. The better
you wind up the more distance you get from your release.
The short game is my specialty. Learning the play with touch and
feel being more concerned with the contact of the ball on the club
than the result. You can then learn to really feel the shots.
“Maxwell’s” Golf Retreat has been set up over
the past 3½ years for learning to play and up-skilling the
short game. Consisting of 5 bedrooms, the homestead has accommodation
for 6 guests, a putting green, chipping and bunker 6 hole challenge,
driving range undercover and outdoor and a 9 hole par 3 course.
The holes range in length from 90 – 170m.
It has been my dream to set up “‘Maxwell’s” Golf
Retreat and for a coach it is heaven to teach in such a beautiful
part of the countryside surrounded in gardens and tranquillity.
It is more than golf visiting “Maxwell’s” it
is a chance to chill out, our motto “a place to be”.
